The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) – BARMM successfully defended its budget for Fiscal Year 2023 before the Committee on Finance, Budget and Management of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), chaired by MP Eduard Guerra and Vice-Chaired by MP Baintan Ampatuan.

The Committee approved MENRE’s budget in the Bangsamoro Expenditure Program (BEP) amounting to PHP 663,810,332.00 and even added 2.4 million pesos for the RTK surveying equipment of the Mines and Geosciences Service (MGS) and Land Management Services (LMS). The FY 2023 budget has an increase of 20.9 million compared to the Ministry’s approved fund for 2022.

MENRE’s budget was sponsored and championed by MP Ubaida Pacasem. Minister Brahim thanked the Committee Chair MP Guerra, Vice-Chair MP Ampatuan, MP Pacasem, and other members of the Committee for the support and passage of the budget of the Ministry. He also congratulated and expressed his gratitude to MENRE’s personnel who personally attended to support the budget defense.

Minister Brahim was accompanied by Bangsamoro Director General Atty. Badr E. Salendab, Director Eshan Karl Mabang of the LMS, Director Abdul-Jalil Umngan of the Forest Management Services, Director Raphael Remo of MGS, Director Nasiri Abas of Energy Management and Development Services, Director Al-Sharif Tamburani of Administrative and Finance Services, Chief Accountant Jawhara Ali, Chief Planning Officer Jessie Ondoy, Chief of Legal Atty. Mark Esmael Nor, and Chief of Internal Audit Mahmod Saeed Pagayao.
