DAVAO CITY — The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) – BARMM actively took part in the Capacity-Building Training on the Revised Philippine Government Internal Audit Manual (RPGIAM), through the endeavors of the Ministry of Finance and Budget and Management (MFBM) in collaboration with the System istanbul escort bayan and Productivity Improvement Bureau (SPIB) of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), held in Davao City, November 28 to 30.

The topics that were discussed during the said event are about understanding the BARMM functions, National Guidelines on Internal Control Systems (NGICS), Comparative Matrix on the Commission of Audit’s (COA’s) Internal Control/Internal audit Standards and NGICS/RPGIAM, major changes incorporated in the RPGIAM and principles and concepts of Internal Audit, including a lecture on the Baseline Assessment of Internal Control Systems (BAICS). More so, the two (2) remaining modules will be taken up by the same trainees in the next fiscal year 2023.

Part of the topics as well are the types of internal audit and key processes in appraising the Internal Control System (ICS) and in conducting the different types, and the tools, techniques, and approaches in appraising the ICS against control objectives.

The MENRE was represented by Mahmod Saeed S. Pagayao, Mohammad Raoff I. Musa, and Mahaliah E. Bagundang from the Internal Audit Division. Internal auditors play an integral function in promoting Moral Governance in the entire region.

In addition, the objective of the training is to furnish the BARMM Internal Auditors with the foundational skills of topics mentioned above which shall guide them in organizing, managing, and conducting an effective internal audit in their respective agencies.

RPGIAM was issued under DBM Circular Letter No. 2020-8 dated 26 May 2020 to assist government agencies in establishing and strengthening their internal audit function to promote an efficient, effective, economical, and ethical (4Es) government operation.
