COTABATO CITY — BARMM Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) Minister Akmad A. Brahim discusses with BARMM Interim Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim the output of the 2015 Cadastral Survey Program, which will help provide comprehensive and accurate data on Bangsamoro land resources for zoning and land use programming purposes.

MENRE Land Management Services (LMS) Director Eshan Karl O. Mabang and Chief of Planning Jessie S. Ondoy joined Minister Brahim in meeting the Chief Minister who was accompanied by Senior Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua and Chief of Staff Alvin-Yasher K. Abdulgafar.

Director Mabang highlighted the vitality of starting the discourse on the subject of 2015 Cadastral Survey Program Output and other related concerns to BARMM Local Government Units, which again is essential for zoning and land use-related programming.

The Cadastral Survey Program refers to the systematic survey of the whole municipality (or an extensive portion) for the purpose of identifying and delineating the individual claims of all land owners and claimants which will serve as basis for the issuance of title or patents. It also includes the delineation of the boundaries of various political units (barangay, municipality, and city) as well as the boundaries between the forest area and the alienable and disposable land. The Program was directly implemented by DENR National’s Land Management Sector (LMS) and the Land Management Bureau (LMB) through the National Cadastral Coordinating Office (NCPCO) under the Office of the LMB Director.

Also present in the meeting to provide technical support were LMS technical personnel, Engr. Salipada H. Quituar, Jr., Engr. Bolkiah A. Mamadsual and AL-Hashr A. Kali.

Potential dissemination strategies were also discussed during the meeting. In result, a series of orientation on the 2015 Cadastral Output is expected to be conducted by the LMS in 2022 for the BARMM mainland and island provinces.

The Chief Minister expressed his support to the proposed activity and encourages the active cooperation of the BARMM Local Government Units through their respective Local Chief Executives.
