MENRE’s Forest Management Services (FMS), Biodiversity, Ecosystems, Research and Development Services (BERDS), and Provincial ENRE Office in Lanao del Sur initially reviewed the Integrated Natural Resources and Environmental Management Project (INREMP) implementations and accomplishments for its possible turnover. Hosted by DENR National led by Assistant Secretary Arleigh J. Adorable, the event was held last 12 July 2022 in Cagayan de Oro City.

INREMP is an ADB-funded project that was lodged to DENR as implementing agency. Lake Lanao River Basin (LLRB) is one of the four selected priority river basins. The Project aims to manage the upper river basin and component watersheds to support poverty reduction, watershed management, biodiversity conservation and climate change policy objectives with emphasis on developing the capacities of local governments, institutions and upland communities as development partners.

Per their Project Completion Report, which is subject to validation and 100% project implementation review, INREMP-LLRB had implemented plantation/reforestation with a total of 2,082 hectares contracted to 41 People Organizations (POs) from 2017-2021. It registered an average survival rate of 82.03%, with 29 POs completely establishing a Livelihood Enhancement Support and were fully functional. It also implemented for the rural infrastructures a total of 7.8 kilometers of rural access road and a portable water system rehabilitation.
