PASIG CITY — The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE), through its Energy Management and Development Services (EMDS), recently held the first joint meeting with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) at the ERC Central Office, Ortigas Center, Pasig City on February 27 to enhance the energy regulation within the Bangsamoro region. EMDS Director Nasiri Abas led the meeting with Commissioner Alexis Lumbatan and Director Atty. Maria Corazon Gines from ERC.

During the meeting, MENRE provided an overview of its role and the progress it has made in managing the energy sector in BARMM. The representatives from MENRE discussed plans and activities to ensure that constituents have accessible, sustainable, and affordable energy. They also highlighted the importance of collaborating with ERC to enforce energy sector rules and procedures in the region effectively.

ERC, on the other hand, highlighted the intricate regulatory framework governing the Philippine energy landscape.
