GENERAL SANTOS CITY — Officials and employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Land Management Bureau (DENR-LMB) went full force during the conduct of Foreshore Management Training and Orientation on Republic Act 11573 s. 2021 and other relevant land-related laws last 26-27 October 2022 initiated by the Land Management Services (LMS) of the ENRE Ministry spearheaded by Director Eshan Karl O. Mabang.

DENR-LMB Director Atty. Emelyne V. Talabis, CESE IV highlighted that “this is the first time we have gathered these LMB chiefs in one room to speak on their field of expertise.”

Present during the 2-day activity were Assistant Director Engr. Romeo P. Versoza with Technical Assistant Atty. Romarie L. Abrazaldo; Land Policy and Planning Division Chief Engr. Henry P. Pacis together with Assistant Chief Gina F. Pascua; Land Management Division Chief Alex C. Pascua with Assistant Chief Engr. Sally C. Dizon; Geodetic Surveys Division Chief Engr. Bienvenido F. Cruz; Legal Division Chief Atty. Marlou F. Alutaya; Claims and Litigation Section Chief Kristine F. Macandog; and the Legal Research and Legal Opinion Section Chief Atty. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Pimentel.

Expressing his support, BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim highlighted in his AVP the relevance of the 2-day activity and the significance of our role as stewards of the gift of natural resources.

“The inputs during your discussions are vital in performing your functions as you handle delicate assessment and measurement of our land resources. Indeed, this activity is very relevant as we share significant role in utilizing and maximizing the potential of our land resources,” Chief Minister said.

MENRE Deputy Minister Muslima A. Asmawil further encouraged the participants to pay closer attention to every lecture as “This kind of training, to me, give more meaning to correcting the injustices being committed in the past, giving more meaning to moral governance, and most especially increase our capacity to serve our people, with the help of our resource persons who are here with us.”

“The learning we will get from this event, if not all, will help address the issues mentioned. We are carrying that gargantuan responsibility,” she added.

Representatives from the BARMM Regional, Provincial and Community ENRE Offices were oriented on the Land Sectoral Development Framework, RA 11573 (An Act Improving the Confirmation Process of Imperfect Land Titles) and RA 10023 (Residential Free Patent), Rapid Land Tenure Appraisal (RLTA), Surveys and Mapping, Foreshore Management, Procedures in the Conduct of Investigation and Report Writing, Accretion and Easement and lastly on Alternative Dispute Resolution. The activity also served as an avenue for the participants to raise to the LMB resource persons their on-the-ground issues and concerns.
