MENRE Minister Akmad A. Brahim and Bangsamoro Director General (BDG) Atty. Badr E. Salendab attended the first-ever Intergovernmental Relations Body (IGRB) meeting under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. Minister Brahim was present as a Member while BDG Salendab as a Resource Person. The meeting was held at the Malacanang of the South in Davao City.

The IGRB was created under Art. VI, Sec. 2 of Republic Act No. 11054 or the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) “to coordinate and resolve issues on intergovernmental relations through regular consultation and continuing negotiation in a non-adversarial manner.”

On the Bangsamoro Government side, it is chaired by the Minister of MBHTE and has, as members, the Speaker of the Parliament, Senior Minister, Cabinet Secretary and Ministers of MENRE, MILG, MFBM, MPW, MAFAR and MHSD.

On the National Government side, it is co-chaired by the Secretary of Budget and Management with the Special Assistant to the President, Secretaries of DILG, DND, DOF, DOE, DA, DOT, DPWH, NEDA and OPAPRU, as members.

The MENRE-relevant agenda was the National Greening Program of the DENR. The details, however, cannot be disclosed due to confidentiality in the proceedings of the IGRB.
