“We aim to increase our knowledge on managing protected areas now that the Protected Area Management Board for the Turtle Islands in the BARMM is envisioning to craft its long-term strategic plan,” Dimaren said.

Dimaren was accompanied by Chief Baharodin Baulo, SRSRS Joeffry Kamid, Forester Datun Salipada, and Forester Bairaiya Salipada from the BERDS and Protected Area Superintendent (PASu) Japrin Hadji-amin from the Provincial ENRE Office in Tawi-Tawi.

The 6th AHP Conference further assessed the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the management of Heritage Parks in the Philippines and identified more activities to improve their management and conservation. As the body promotes partnership and networking among AHP stakeholders, notable inputs were documented to be included and revisited during the upcoming 7th AHP Conference to be held in Indonesia in October 2022.
