The Southeast Asia Petroleum Exploration (SEAPEX) Society kicks off its SEAPEX Golden Jubilee Exploration Conference (SEC) in Singapore with its Pre-Conference event that included a seminar on Oil and Gas Property Evaluation, and a Farmout and Government Promotion forum. Among the invited participants is the Bangsamoro Petroleum Upstream Sector, which was introduced to the International Oil and Gas Stakeholders. Along with the Bangsamoro delegation is the Philippine Department of Energy headed by Undersecretary Alessandro O. Sales who presented the Philippine Petroleum Investment Climate. Usec. Sales emphasized and introduced the Bangsamoro Government and its BARMM Region as an Area of Focus on Petroleum Exploration in the Philippines.

Following the implementation of the Bangsamoro Organic Law, the Bangsamoro Government and the National Government through its Intergovernmental Energy Board (IEB) are getting closer to finalizing the Joint Guidelines for the grant of rights, privileges, and concessions in the Exploration, Development, and Utilization of the Fossil Fuel in the Bangsamoro Region.

Minister Akmad A. Brahim leads the Bangsamoro Government delegation. He is joined by Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority Director General Mohajirin Ali, Energy Management and Development Services Director II Nasiri Abas, and four others from MENRE.

The SEC is a landmark conference in the petroleum industry that promotes petroleum exploration and development in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. This year’s conference will run from March 6-10.
