PIAGAPO, Lanao Del Sur — The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy – BARMM, through the CENRE Office of Lanao Del Sur 1st District and together with the Police Provincial Office of the province, was successful in planting 200 mahogany seedlings last February 24, 2021 in one of the IBGP sites at Brgy. Gacap, Piagapo, Lanao Del Sur
Among the 69 participants, the activity was attended by CENRE Officer Forester Asnawi A. Dataman, LDS-PPO headed by PLtCol Richard A. Habawel, MPS-Piagao headed by PMAJ Salahuddin A. Basher, the Local Government of Piagapo represented by Councilor Samanudin M. Bazer, RMFB headed by PLt Lebrilla, AFP – 82nd IB led by SSG Jaime M. Saromines, Jr., BLGU-Gacap headed by Chairman Saiben M. Abubacar, Municipal DRRMO and the Apta Gacap Bangsamoro Farmers Marketing Cooperative (AGBFMC) headed by Abdul Yusoph A. Mama.

To help fulfill the goals of IBGP or the Integrated Bangsamoro Greening, a flagship project of MENRE and the BARMM Government, to reforest the open and denuded lands in the region, initially in the provinces of Maguindanao and Lanao Del Sur, the tree planting was actualized along with the PNP in the province which is also adhering to one of their core values, “Makakalikasan”.
