D.O.S., Maguindanao — In fulfillment of BARMM-MENRE’s first 100-Days Action Plan, Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua had a site inspection at the MENRE Central Nursery at Sitio Lomboy, Awang, D.O.S., Maguindanao on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 as the Ministry creates measures in preparation for the rainy season.

In the morning of the same day, the PENREO of Maguindanao conducted the bagging of an estimated 5,000 seedlings which will be planted at the Ministry’s Central Nursery. As the Bangsamoro region also suffers from El Niño, these seedlings will be considered a part of the Ministry’s greening program to sustain the life of the nursery amidst the drought and take advantage of the coming rainy season. BARMM-MENRE will regularly visit the seedling nurseries in order to assess and evaluate the needs of the nursery sites and take action on its sustainability. As soon as the dry season diminishes, Minister Macacua will make one of his priorities the immediate planting of more seedlings at their nurseries with the assistance from local laborers, volunteers, and forest rangers.
