The Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) – BARMM supports the celebration of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women, with the theme, “United for a VAW-Free Bangsamoro,” which began on November 25.
The celebration kicked off with a parade and was participated by different ministries. All employees and staff were encouraged to wear accented orange as part of the cause.
The said campaign is observed in the country every year from November 25 to December 12 under the Republic Act 10398 or the Act declaring November 25 of every year as the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of VAWC.
Further, the campaign supports the Philippine government’s goal of protecting the human rights of women and girls by upholding its commitment to address all forms of gender-based violence as enshrined in the 1987 Constitution.
