COTABATO CITY — Chief of Planning Jessie S. Ondoy, Mines and Geosciences (MGS) Director Raphael L. Remo, Chief Geologist Aminshani C. Lukman, and Project Evaluation Officer Morced A. Quituar represent the MENRE on 5 May 2022 during the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the crafting of the Bangsamoro Investment Code (BIC).
The team of the Environment Ministry identified and presented the programs, projects, activities, and services that the Ministry can provide to businesses and investors, and at the same time, the potential role and contributions of the Ministry in promoting and generating investments that can be included in the development of the BIC.
Chief Planning Officer Ondoy underscored that in the BARMM’s investment policy, “we need to ensure that preferential rights must be given to the residents of the BARMM in terms of investment grants, labor and hiring of skilled workers.”
“We also need to incentivize corporate social responsibility and good business practices to encourage responsible business in the BARMM,” Ondoy added.
The 1-day FGD for the crafting of the BIC is held today in Pagana Kutawato Hall, Cotabato City. The MENRE joins the BARMM Ministries, Offices, and Agencies in ascertaining that we build a good business climate in the BARMM, promote the protection of local and international investors, and ensure the sustainability, expansion, and diversification of investments in the region.
