BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi — To aid in the formulation of the Bangsamoro Energy Development Plan (BEDP), the Energy Management and Development Services (EMDS) of MENRE held its first major consultative meeting with the Provincial ENRE Offices and other stakeholders in the energy sector.


The EMDS, headed by Director Nasiri B. Abas, says that it aims to gather, collect and exchange information with the PENREOs, other government agencies, relevant organizations and prospect partner donors, and forge partnerships that would help achieve the goals and objectives of MENRE in terms of utilization, exploration and development of potential energy sources in the Bangsamoro.


The coordination and consultative meetings will serve as a regular venue for individuals from the said stakeholder entities in establishing the fundamentals of the energy plan.


The first major consultative meeting was held 23-24 March 2021 in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi and participated by the members of MENRE Technical Working Group for Energy Plan from the Ministry’s technical services.


The series of consultation activities will provide a mechanism for participants to discuss and develop a common understanding on key capacity building issues and priorities, all building towards the formulation of the 1st BEDP.
