EMB Director Engr. William P. Cuñado together with his Assistant Director Engr. Vizminda Osorio and technical personnel, Engr. Stephen Roie Lee, Engr. Lordwin Crislogo and Engr. Leonil Marie Gargar met with MENRE-EMS Director Jalani M. Pamlian in Cotabato City.

Director Pamlian requested the technical personnel of EMB Central Office to be the resource persons during the training for the officials and employees of the Environment Ministry in the Regional and Provincial Offices.

The training will primarily focus on strengthening and enhancing the knowledge and expertise of the EMS personnel and the Sub-Committee on Regional Solid Waste Management (RSWM) on solid waste management in the Bangsamoro.

EMB-12 Regional Director Engr. Omar Saikol and Chief AFMD Engr. Abs Andang were also present during the meeting to assist EMB Central Office in the preparation of the upcoming capacity building.

Last 6 October, Director Pamlian also discussed with the DENR National the future transition and turnover of power and authority over BARMM SWM matters from National Solid Waste Management Commission to the Bangsamoro Government.

The Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council approved the creation of the Sub-Com on RSWM under the Regional Land Use Committee last September 3. The Sub-Com, which the MENRE chairs, will strengthen the implementation of the Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000.
