KIDAPAWAN CITY — The Energy Management and Development Services (EMDS) of the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy (MENRE) – BARMM attended the two (2) day technical hands-on training on calibration and sealing of fuel dispensers conducted by the Department of Energy – Mindanao Field Office (DOE-MFO) Davao last 27-28 October 2022 held at Grand Shine Hotel, Kidapawan City.

Spearheaded by the Energy Industry Management Division of the DOE-MFO, this activity was organized in collaboration with BLGF XI, CSI Global Services Corp., and LGUs of North Cotabato. This training is part of DOE’s proactive initiatives and assistance, specifically designed to capacitate the LGU personnel regarding the proper calibration and sealing of fuel dispensers, intended to protect the consuming public from unlawful manipulations of dispensing pump meters.

Calibration of fuel dispensers is the process of testing the accuracy of dispensing pump meters used in delivering fuels and measures the actual quantity of fuel being dispensed.

DOE Department Circular no. DC2017-11-0011 states that it is unlawful for any gasoline stations or fuel retail outlet to engage in under-delivery and/or short selling of fuels and illegal trading.

The EMDS, in coordination with the DOE, assures that it will capacitate and prepare its personnel in implementing the regulations on proper calibration and sealing of fuel dispensers in different gasoline stations operating within BARMM.
