In relation to the price freeze advisory released by MENRE prohibiting price increases for household liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in cylinder (11 KG and below) and kerosene products during the period of State of Calamity in BARMM triggered by Tropical Storm Paeng, the Energy Management and Development Services (EMDS) of the Ministry on 3-4 November 2022 intensified campaign to raise awareness of business owners and establishments in Cotabato City and Maguindanao about the need to implement and abide by the said order.

The price freeze is in accordance with Republic Act 10623, amending Republic Act 7581 also known as the “Price Act”, to include household LPG and kerosene products among basic necessities and prime commodities which prices shall be stabilized and protected from price increases during emergency situations.

The price freeze will remain in effect and valid for 15 days from October 29 to November 12 2022 following the Proclamation No. 0004 Series of 2022 issued by BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, declaring a State of Calamity in the BARMM due to Tropical Storm Paeng.
