The vision to achieve a greener and climate-smart Bangsamoro doesn’t end as outgoing DENR-ARMM Regional Secretary Hadji Kahal Q. Kedtag has officially turned the leadership over to the new head of the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources and Energy, Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua.
“I’m looking forward to working with you as we all aim for good governance,” MENRE Minister Macacua told the employees in his message of acceptance. “We have to sustain the type of good governance that Governor Hataman and Secretary Kedtag started,” he added.
On the other hand, outgoing Regional Secretary Kedtag was grateful to the years he spent as the head of DENR-ARMM. “Maraming, maraming salamat sa suporta. Sa management at ating leadership na itinaguyod para sa DENR, maraming salamat,” Kedtag stressed as he remembered the 7 years of leading the ENR agency.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed head of BARMM, Chief Minister Alhaj Murad Ibrahim, encouraged everyone to be optimistic about the ongoing change. “We need to be optimistic as we try our best to make this change a success,” he said in his inspirational message, emphasizing that graft and corruption are issues that the new government must address.
For the last 7 years, DENR-ARMM has achieved significant milestones that will serve as the green legacy of the outgoing administration. Aside from the acclaimed 6.8% increase of ARMM’s forestry, the department has also gained success in its Cadastral Survey, granted more than 6,300 hectares of land to its beneficiaries, produced over a million seedlings, and established several plantations such as mangrove and bamboo plantations through the National Greening Program among many others of achievements.
The new MENRE of BARMM welcomes Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua and is all ready to work for the betterment of environmental protection. As the people of BARMM adapt to the newly settled Bangsamoro, we remain exerting efforts in creating a greener, healthy and climate-smart region.
