The Community Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy Office of Lanao del Sur 1st District conducted a tree planting activity at Brgy. Inudaran, Municipality of Marantao in the province on February 23.

The MSU College of Law Students and the representatives of CENREO-2A personnel participated in the activity. Volunteers learned about the importance of trees and advocated for the cause in their community. The activity aims to encourage citizens and communities to become knowledgeable about the importance of every single tree and how it benefits their daily life.

According to a Hadith, “There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him (Bukhari)”, which raises awareness of the environmental benefits of trees where they provide shelter and food for animals, purify the air of pollution and regulate the temperature within urban environments. They play a critical role in the quality of human life as well as the environmental well-being of our communities.

As the activity recessed, the MSU College of Law Student Council said that they will support any environmental activities that MENRE Lanao del Sur Office will conduct in the forthcoming.
