679.6 board feet of Antipolo species of forest products and one (1) unit of chainsaw used in cutting operations were apprehended at Purok Bagong, Silang, Brgy. Bugabungan, Upi, Maguindanao by the Community ENRE Office of Maguindanao 1st District and Upi Municipal ENR Office last 22 April 2022.

This follows Presidential Decree 705 as amended by Executive Order No. 277 otherwise known as the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines, MMAA No. 161 an Act Providing for Sustainable Forest Management in the region, and Republic Act No. 9175 or the Act regulating the Ownership, Possession, Sale, Importation and Use of Chainsaws.

The said apprehension was made in response to the information received by the Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force regarding the undocumented forest products and the machinery used. These forest products are now under the temporary custody of Brgy. Bugabungan, headed by its BLGU Local Chief Executive, while the chainsaw is under the safekeeping of CENREO 1A led by CENRE Officer Noroden S. Abdullah with Forester Guiamel D. Abdul.
