LAMITAN CITY, Basilan — From July 2-9, the MENRE Environmental Management Services (EMS) team, led by Director Jalani M. Pamlian, carried out validation and monitoring activities at different industries in the province of Basilan, istanbul escort together with the Chiefs of Clearance and Permitting Division, Solid Waste Management Division, and Monitoring and Enforcement Division.
Before conducting the validation and monitoring activities, the EMS team extended their courtesy to the LGU of Lamitan, where the team had an informational session on the five environmental laws that MENRE enforces. These laws include the Hazardous Waste Generators ID for RA 6969, ECC/CNC under PD 1586, PTO Permit to Operate for RA 8749, WDP for RA 9275, and SLF under RA 9003. LGU Lamitan showed their full support for MENRE-BARMM.
The Validating/Inspectorate team also extended courtesy to the Provincial Government of Basilan and the representative of each municipality. The event’s highlights, particularly the SWM Plan’s salient features and the five environmental laws mandated to MENRE, are tackled for improved awareness and compliance.
Three different establishments, namely EJN Rubber Processing Plant, NPC Powerbarge 108, and Sitti Auna Riverland Resort, underwent validation and monitoring by MENRE. Following their inspection, the EMS team identified specific areas in these industries that require improvement in terms of environmental management practices, which the team directed the firms and industries to comply with. The management of these industries has shown its dedication to adhering to the directives set by the MENRE.
Activities like these implemented by EMS aim to ensure that municipalities and cities within the BARMM region are complying with the five (5) environmental laws that MENRE implements and to promote a cleaner and greener Bangsamoro environment.
