MAGUING, Lanao del Sur — Four hundred (400) fruit-bearing seedlings were planted during the Ceremonial Tree Planting and Growing Activity for the ‘Kayod ka, Bangsamoro’ Convergence Program in Maguing, Lanao del Sur, thanks to the province’s Community ENRE Office 1st District pushing through with the activity last 30 November 2021.

Celebrating with the theme “Kalikasan ko, Kaligtasan ko, Babantayan ko,” CENRE Officer Asnawi Dataman said that “our commitment to the community to protect and conserve our natural resources, especially for the reforestation program such as this KKB Convergence Program, is still our top priority.”

The tree planting and growing was initially planned to be conducted jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform, National Power Corporation – Watershed Management Department, the Local Government Unit of Maguing, and the community beneficiaries of KKB from MILF 103rd Base Command. However, there were limitations in conducting a joint activity due to the then-ongoing national mass vaccination program and stricter health protocol in the checkpoints.

Fortunately, several community beneficiaries, MILF-BIAF members, and Mohammad Ramadhan G. Abbas of MAFAR-Maguing were still able to attend and participate in the planting of 400 seedlings in a 1 hectare of land.

The women representatives of the beneficiaries relayed their thanks to the organizers for assisting them despite the pandemic and were grateful to participate in the tree planting.
